Dubai & Snowboard's Life

Dubai is one of the fastest growing city in the world, with every single corner construction, Dubai will be one of the metropolitan & most beutiful city in the world. In Dubai everything is possible, everything could happen. The only 7 star hotel in the world (Burj Al-Arab) & the tallest building in the world so far (Burj Khalifa) made Dubai looks prestigious & luxurious.


My first time in Dubai, instead of working always try to find the spot & abstract corner in all around the city, start from the beaches, roads, buildings, malls & everything. i always try to visit all the famous & historical place in Dubai, coz i dont wanna waste my time only for work, so im thinking to do something worthed & intersting in Dubai.

Talking about the beach in Dubai, most of the beaches are clean & free entrance with all the things inside, but there is only one problem we had on the beach, sory to says Indian & Pakistani people, they are always staying on the beach & they are the only problem we had if we going to the beach, especially if we going with our female friends they will looking at our female friends from the hair till the toes without closing their eyes. Does she fell disturbing ? yes they are, even me or male one, we are felt so disturbing, thats why sometimes i rude to them, just because they always trying to interupt our privasi, but i think if try to be rude & taft to them they will be scare & they wont touch our friends anymore, coz sometimes we need to do that for our privacy.

Abra is one of the traditional water transportation in Dubai, shape like a small boat with engine, they operated Abra to cross the Creek from one side to the other side, i love Abra cos its so cheap (1 dirham) & so viewfull, especially if we ride in the afternoon areound 4 or 5 pm, so we can see the birds flying over, its felt like in Europe (eventhough i never been there, hehehe...). Close to Abra station, we'll find a Dubai Museum, as an ordinary museum generaly they have all the things that they used to have in the museum, start from the history about the ancient people till the Dubai Present.


There is one of the most famous Mosque in Dubai, Jumeirah Mosque, luckyly i live close to that Mosque, walking distance, just walk for 5 minutes & we gonna reach there. Such a beautiful Mosque (Subhanallah), & that Mosque is the oldest Mosque in Dubai.


Away from Mosque, Dubai has so many shooping Malls, small till the huge one. So far, Dubai own the Biggest Shaping Mall in the World, Dubai Mall. Dubai Mall is realy close to Burj Khalifa the tallest building in the World so far, its such a huge mall with everything inside, i couldnt even walk whole around the mall coz its too big, anyway inside the mall there is an ice ring area so u can try to learn ice skating instead of enjoying the mallDubai Mall. Out side of Dubai Mall, we can see the most beutifull Dancing Water Fountain in the city, such an awesome, its so beautiful. There is one more interesting inside Dubai Mall, Dubai Aquarium, its such a good & big aquarium inside, so we fell like in the sea worl, but we are inside the mall.


So many things interesting in Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, its an island with Palm tree shape, so its sound impossible but this is Dubai, everything is possible, & now on Dubai is constructing the WORLD ISLAND, its an island but the shape is like the world map on the flat water, its realy-realy big, so u gonna see ur own country there & everything from the world would be there. But the latest news that i heard, for the WORLD ISLAND, they stop the construction coz of the crisis, Dubai had an Global Economy Crisis a long 2009, so we'll wait for the next informations.


Water Park, its such a good thing in Dubai, there are 2 water park in Dubai. First, WILD WADI, the first water park in Dubai, located in the Jumeirah 3 next to JUMEIRAH BEACH RESORT HOTEL & BURJ AL-ARAB, its good fun to be there, the only thing that i like is Jumeira Tower, its such a tall tower with one roler, so when u hit the first steep u will face the second one, so with the speed that u get u will feel that u are flying over the second slide, but that was good fun, so if u go to WILD WADI, its not complete if never try the Jumeira Tower. The second one, ATLANTIS AQUAVENTURE, located in Palm Jumierah, own by Atlantis Hotel, its such a good place in Dubai aswell, the most thrilling slide on it is "Leap Of Faith", its quite steep, about 75-80 degrees steepness, thats why when u going down that slide u gonna hold ur breath untill u are realy-realy reach the bottom, good fun though, u can ride inside the tunnel in between the fish tank, thats awesome. So whenever u go to Dubai u need to visit one of the water park in Dubai, eithere ATLANTIS AQUAVENTUE or WILD WADI.

Samething like Tanah Abang or Taman Puring Jakarta, Dubai has a place to find the cheap & Black Market Gadget, its called Naif in Deira, but we need to be realy-realy smart to choose the gadget, otherwise u'll buy the fake with the shit quality of gadget, if we are smart enough we can get nice & good quality gadget with the cheap, cheap, cheap price. Or if u dont wanna take a risk, u can go to every mall & compare the price so if u patience enough u will get what u want according to ur budget.


Dubai has two seasons, winter & summer, i love Dubai only in the winter, coz summer is disaster, i realy wanna leave Dubai in the summer but i couldnt, coz summer is one of the time to earn a lot of money for my company, around june, july or august, thats why they dont allowed me to go holiday during this time. Winter time is awesome, cold, wheater is friendly & the good this is we can surf. Close to BURJ AL-ARAB & JUMEIRAH BEACH HOTEL there is one of the good spot to surf, SUNSET BEAH. Waves wasnt realy big like Bali or Hawai or Srilanka, but its enough to have a lot of fun in Dubai, last time, waves was about 3 or 4 feet, thats quite big for the begginer like me, i love surf in Dubai.


Desert Safari, is cool to do in Dubai, we goona ride inside the SUV car along the desert, dune bashing, sandboarding, enjoying the dinner in the middle of the desert & there is one show that u should missed, Belly dancing, i dont think i have to talk about that, thats sooooooo cool, especialy the dancer is so beautiful & perfect body shape..lovely....


There are so many thing u can do in Dubai, i dont think i can tell u all those things here, but i need to tell u something that i think pretty cool to do in Dubai, Snowboarding in Dubai. Sound's like bull-shit coz Dubai is the desert, but they made the dream comes true. The planning or constructing long time ago, exactly on september 2005, the first Indoor Ski Dome in region (Arab Region) & The biggest snowdome in the world are open, SKI DUBAI. Thats amazing, u can imagine, while u sweating in the desert u can get chiiled inside the snowdome, summer time 45 degrees temp. outside & -4 degrees tempt inside the snowdome. If u dont know how to ski or snowboard u dont have to be worry, the profesional ski & snowboard instructors will give u advice & take care of u so u can still on the safe conditions.

Anyway, back to my life again, after my first snowboard lesson, my friend brough me to the top of the slope, its kind of scary, coz i never been there before. When i reach the top, my friend just left me behind, & i ask him what should i do, he said "just go, u know how to control ur board, u took discovery lesson already". Discovery lesson is the first lesson that u have to take if never have any experiences for ski or snowboarding. However, i need to go down the hill, but i was so scared, i started talked to my self "lets do it, no pain no gain". The painfull is come, first slide was fine but for some reason i was panic & started roll over like a spring roll half way & i took of my binding & walking down the hill. In the night i was suffering, all my body are soar, in the next day, when i woke up, all my body are dead..couldnt walk but try to walk coz i have to work. After my first experience i didnt give up, keep snowboarding over, over & over again till i got the hang of it.
